Hollywood Yogis

Feeling fat? Feeling tired? Out of shape? Try a Bikram class. I've been into Bikram Hot Yoga for a few years now and am completely addicted. With a minimum of 900 calories burnt per 90 minute class, Bikram is without a doubt the king of yoga (his practice is even copywritten!). The heat is set at 42 degrees celcius, but this did get easier for me over time and my body did adjust. Even Lady Gaga has been practicing......even if she is in heels.....



Things to know before taking your 1st Bikram class: The teacher never demonstrates the postures and the class is lead by watching the advanced yogis in front of you. Always show up for class hydrated - this way your body will require less water during class. There are 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. The class runs in a sequence - each posture prepares your body for the next one.
